Thompson Elected to Serve Two-Year Term Starting July 2016
ADDISON, TX – July 12, 2016 – iControl ESI, a complex eDiscovery software and solutions company founded in 1999, congratulates its VP Marketing | Business Development as she begins a two-year term with ARMA International.
“We are incredibly proud of Robin, and all of us here are honored to support her in the work she will do serving the members of ARMA International,” said Matt Simmons, President of iControl ESI.
“I walked into my first ARMA meeting in 2000 when I was working as a manager at a large energy company in Houston because we were experiencing challenges coordinating productions with retention schedules and disposition. I was looking for the most globally recognized resource to get that education and, of course, it is ARMA International. My career, up to that point, had primarily been managing discovery in law firms and corporate legal departments where we did not have much opportunity to interact with RIM or receive this targeted education. When I entered a corporate legal department, both RIM and legal operated in the same environment, and I could see that these fields were converging, and, of course that made sense because RIM professionals are the first-responders in litigation,” said Thompson.
“What I hoped to gain from ARMA was the best education I could on topics affecting information management, retention and disposition. What I got in return was so much more than that. I can trace every major career success back to the education, fellowship, and mentorship I have received through my ARMA Membership and from my ARMA colleagues over these years. I wanted to repay this organization who has given so much to me, and I am honored that the lifeblood of this organization, its members, have entrusted me with that privilege,” added Thompson.
Also serving on the ARMA International Board are Tera Ladner, Ilona Koti, Michael Haley, Peter Kurilecz, Mark Chardack, Margaret Hermesmeyer, Mark Levin, Peggy Syljuberget, and Ryan Zilm.” You can read the announcement about ARMA’s Incoming Board here, and learn more about ARMA International’s CEO, Bob Baird, here.
